Is the law of the Old Testament the law of Moses, and thus limited to the Old Testament era? Or could this law be binding throughout every generation, as the Scriptures do say? We are going to look to the Word of God and receive a simple and straight answer from Him.
AND THIS IS THE LAW WHICH MOSES SET BEFORE THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL… DEUTERONOMY 4:44
AND HE WROTE THERE UPON THE STONES A COPY OF THE LAW OF MOSES, WHICH HE WROTE IN THE PRESENCE OF THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL. JOSHUA 8:32
REMEMBER YE THE LAW OF MOSES MY SERVANT, WHICH I COMMANDED UNTO HIM IN HOREB FOR ALL ISRAEL, WITH THE STATUTES AND JUDGMENTS. MALACHI 4:4
While the law was delivered to ancient Israel, the Word of God teaches that the nature of His law is perpetual and that we are actually Israel.
NOT AS THOUGH THE WORD OF GOD HATH TAKEN NONE EFFECT. FOR THEY ARE NOT ALL ISRAEL, WHICH ARE OF ISRAEL: NEITHER, BECAUSE THEY ARE THE SEED OF ABRAHAM, ARE THEY ALL CHILDREN: BUT, IN ISAAC SHALL THY SEED BE CALLED. THAT IS, THEY WHICH ARE THE CHILDREN OF THE FLESH, THESE ARE NOT THE CHILDREN OF GOD: BUT THE CHILDREN OF THE PROMISE ARE COUNTED FOR THE SEED. ROMANS 9:6–8
